Regional Activities

Regional networks undertake a very broad range of activities but all are designed to help create an environment in which voluntary and community organisations thrive.
Some of our most recent initiatives include:

  • Supporting and leading the South West Strategic Infrastructure Partnership to progress a vision for effective, efficient and accessible VCS support services.
  • Managing an extensive consultation exercise on the new North West Integrated Regional Strategy and progressing this through membership of the NW Leaders Board.
  • Leading a “Third Sector Trends Survey” in Yorkshire and the Humber linking to similar work in the other Northern regions.
  • Working on Hidden Asset research demonstrating the economic and social profile of the VCS in the South East.
  • Leading a £2m European Social Fund Eastern Region Volunteering into Employment Partnership in 2009-12.
  • Representing VCS and third sector views on the East Midlands Regional Economic Cabinet.
  • Developed the first Third Sector Regional Leadership Strategy which resulted in funders providing leadership development bursaries for individuals from the North East third sector.
  • Undertaking a series of mapping activities including ‘The Economic Footprint’ providing robust evidence of the economic and social contributions of the West Midlands VCS.
  • Facilitating VCS representation on several London Mayoral partnership boards and co-ordinating the London regional compact.
