Regional Overview – West Midlands

Regional Action West Midlands (RAWM) the regional infrastructure body for the voluntary and community sector in the West Midlands exists to enable a sustainable, influential, and inclusive sector. RAWM distributes regular enews bulletins on issues relating to health and social care and this can be accessed through RAWM’s website. During the transition RAWM is:

  • Building relationships with NHS West Midlands around the health transition and emerging clinical commissioning groups and also leading on voluntary sector engagement with the equality delivery system.
  • Conducting an online survey to local infrastructure agencies and contact being made with local agencies to gather intelligence about engagement with the transition.
  • Supporting the LINks/HealthWatch transitional process
  • Working with Learning for Public Health and BVSC to deliver event in Autumn looking at workforce development in relation to the transition and looking and how we can up-skill health commissioners to understand about sector – this is in very early planning stages
  • Exploring potential to establish a health forum/network with local infrastructure agencies
  • Bringing infrastructure agency CEOs together to discuss Public Sector White Paper and Infrastructure funding via BIG
  • Exploring with SHA contact how to support GP’s to build better relationships with sector and understand what sector can offer.
