Health Transition Resources
This page brings together a range of Regional Voices resources that may be useful in preparing your organisation as the NHS modernises, through the Health and Social Care Bill, and there is a transition in many of the statutory health structures. Use these resources yourself, or talk to your nearest regional health and social care network about support they can offer you. This could be through peer support- from joining the network to a tailored training session around the transition.
Resources:
A briefing about clinical commissioning in the health transition period: a summary of the current situation, as it impacts on voluntary sector organisations, and the timescales for change
A briefing around influencing the new local structures in health: looks at how to engage with clinical commissioning groups, public health leads in local authorities, health and wellbeing boards and local HealthWatch
An overview of health and wellbeing boards- and the likely implications for the voluntary sector.
Map of current proposed structures in health and social care
Presentation to use around the major changes in the health landscape for the voluntary sector.
Guide to NHS Transition in Yorkshire and the Humber
To help make your case to commissioners and policy makers:
Guide to the voluntary sector: for commissioners and policy makers in health and wellbeing- explaining the many roles the voluntary sector undertakes in promoting health and reducing health inequalities.
Towards more effective commissioning: Voluntary Sector North West, in conjunction with Regional Voices, commissioned a piece of research that examined how local voluntary sector organisations have worked creatively with commissioners to co-design solutions to local health and wellbeing issues. A strong case for co-production, the use of grants and the importance of good relationships between commissioners and the voluntary sector.
VCS Representation on Health and Wellbeing Boards: as shadow Health and Wellbeing Boards are being established it is important that they engage with the voluntary and community sector. This document is based on a think piece prepared by One East Midlands to propose models of engagement between health and wellbeing boards and the voluntary sector.
